Kevin Ojeda · Founder, KO Advisors

I watched a pandemic catch families off guard. That's why I do this.

When COVID-19 hit, I watched families lose jobs, lose coverage, and get caught off guard, often all at once. It showed me how fast life can change, and it's what led me to become a health insurance broker.

It's also why I work the way I do: every option side by side in plain English, and I stay your agent after you enroll. Claims questions, renewals, a new doctor: you call me, not a 1-800 line.

The 15-Minute Call

What we go over, side by side, Marketplace and private.

Every plan gets checked against the same six things before you decide.

Your doctors and hospitals

Are the ones you actually use in network? We check that first.

Your prescriptions

Covered or not, and what each one costs you.

Your monthly premium

The exact number, after any subsidy you qualify for.

What you'd owe when you use it

Deductible, copays and the out-of-pocket max. No surprises.

Marketplace vs. private, side by side

Your HealthCare.gov options next to the private PPO plans you may qualify for, carrier named on each.

Set up your 2027 health plan

Pick one and we enroll together on the carrier's own secure application.

Questions & Answers

Clear answers before you book.

Here's what to know before we talk.

How can I check your license?

My license is public record. Search NPN 2126125 or the name Kevin Ojeda on your state insurance department's website. It takes about a minute and costs nothing.

Look up my license on your state's site →

Which plans will you actually show me?

Both kinds. I show you your Public Marketplace options from HealthCare.gov, with any subsidy you qualify for, and the private-market plans available to you, side by side, so you see everything before you decide. Depending on your health and where you live, you may qualify for a private PPO plan with a lower deductible than what you're seeing on the Marketplace. If the Marketplace plan is the better fit, I'll tell you that too.

What happens after I pick a plan?

Whatever plan you choose, I come with it. I'm your person all year by text or phone: finding a doctor in your network, checking whether a prescription is covered, a bill that doesn't look right, a new baby or a new job. You never call a 1-800 number and start from zero.

What if the plan I already have is my best option?

Then I'll tell you to keep it, and mean it. One bad-fit plan would cost me your trust, your referrals and years of working together, and I'd rather lose a commission than lose that. About a fifth of my calls end with “stay where you are.”

Why does your help cost $0? Is the plan marked up?

No. By state insurance law, health insurance rates are fixed and filed with your State Department of Insurance. Whether you buy a plan directly on a website by yourself or have me shop and manage it for you all year, the monthly premium is identical down to the penny. The carrier pays me a flat broker commission out of their administrative budget.

Can I get coverage outside of open enrollment?

Often, yes. ACA Marketplace plans require open enrollment (November 1 to January 15 in most states) or a qualifying life event, but private health plans can be applied for year-round. On our call I'll tell you exactly which windows apply to you.
